This workshop will provide attendees with an introduction to QGIS, a robust Free and Open Source Software solution for high-quality map creation. QGIS is as a fantastic option for scholars looking to produce professional-level, high-quality geospatial visualizations, and who do not have access to the pricey ArcGIS software. QGIS’s strengths and weaknesses will be covered through a quick introductory overview, then workshop attendees will learn how to get started with QGIS by adding data and map layers, symbolizing datasets, editing map features, and more.
